Blue Sun Room GRAPHICS - IMAGES

Mal wallpaper / poster

Thursday, August 26, 2004

Got bored again, so I made a new wallpaper for my computer. Not all that original, but what can ya do. Unfortunately, as with most of my stuff, it might be a little dark for normal monitors. Sorry. Adjustments can always be made.... (Okay, fine, I admit it: I was inspired by all the damn fine posters being created by Tomerai, GwenHarker, and gojiro... not that I'm anywhere as talented as they are....)

Very dramatic. The Powers that Be could save a lot of money on graphic design by buying Browncoat ideas on the cheap.

Mui impressive. One of these days, I'd love to learn how some of you all do things. Like getting movement into the word Serenity like that. Very cool!

Okay, I didn't read your note the first time. Thanks for the compliment, but I think you are way more talented than lil' ol' me!

The background is the shot of Serenity from the DVD menu scene thing cut into different views, semi-transparent, rotated, flipped, etc., kind of like a wacky jigsaw puzzle. Mal has about 3 different paint type effects layered over him and blended. The "motion" you see in "Serenity" was a bunch of tricky things all put together. Thanks for the compliment, gojiro & Tomerai

This is GREAT! I love the high drama. Maximum impact! And the background must've been a blast to create. Wooo! You go girl.

Great Job!
I like that you include plenty of blackspace for icons. A lot of people here forget that and it becomes difficult to see your icons when the backgound is so cluttered.
Good use of composition and drama as well.
I second the request for 1024 x 768.

For those who want it 1024 x 768: I originally made this for my computer at work, so it's 1280 x 1024, but you can do the "stretch" thing and it'll turn out just fine. I put the picture here:
