I watched Space Cases too, but I didn't realize until recently that Jewel was Catalina. And I always tried to figure out how to get my hair to look like that.(okay, so I was a dumb kid and didn't realize it was a wig. :p)

Outlaw Star is similar to Fireflay. Outlaws ecking out a living on the edge of space, caught between the forces of the verse. There's even a girl in a box!

OK, gotta brag - Peter David (creator of Space Cases) is a Close Personal Friend of mine. His daughters were the flower girls at my (& Embassy's) wedding.

Great comic! Love the anime style. Please do more!!!
I also heartily recommend Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, both anime space-westerns. The first is heavier on the space element, the second on the western. The first one's got style, the second one has story. And they got me into anime.
