Ya know...wouldn't be hilarious if Simon's brain was just blue as humanly possible? That his inner thoughts are just all kinds of crude and vulgar, but there's some sort of metaphorical screen that tidies up his speech before getting to his mouth? Might explain his occasional inability to talk to Kaylee effectively;)
