This is only my second picture like this, I'm working one of Kaylee now, I really, really hope it comes out even half as good as this one. This one still blows ME away, and I watched it coming to life lol.

btw - this is all 100% hand drawn, no "photo editing" or other digital manipulation was done. I painted it using PSP 9, using a photo of Inara as a guide for color and lighting and stuff.

As a fellow artist who uses the computer as her canvas, I totally undestand how difficult it is to draw (I'd say it's harder on a computer because you don't have as much control) so I commend you. The most Serenityesque I've done is a Simpsons/Firefly crossover (which I must finish one day) I've only once attempted one of the BDH's portraits. Never did come out right. Nicely done Shadesiren, I'd say MPhillips has some competition (not that there is any)
