This is a sketch of Mal I did just recently. This is my 2nd Firefly drawing and I'm actually happy with it. The paper was a pain to work with being very smooth, but I wanted to try a new sketchbook. I do love the way the expression came out on his face. A little unhappy with his mouth though.

Lovely. The eyes and nose are very nice.
You're right about the mouth though. I think the lower lip is too full, especially out to the sides. I've Drawn Mal a couple of times and his mouth is a pain. It almost looks pursed but but is actually fairly full so it's difficult to find the right balance.
I must say that this is still a wonderful picture. I look forward to more.

This is some excellent work, Roxy! Definitely recognize it as Mal, though the lips are a tad bit too full for Mal/Nathan. That and the shape of the face from the utilized angle seems a tad bit too narrow;)
