This is the third time I've attempted this concept and this in the only one that I was even slightly happy with.

Serenity REALLY pops out here! I don't know if you meant it to, but it may be... too much. Is it possible to do a light layering of the effect from the rest of the image, just to make it less harsh? Or else blur the edges slightly, or take down the opacity?

Honestly? I like how Serenity is a lot more visually clear and coherent than compared to the background. Definitely allows the viewer to a get a feel of what it was like for Mal to glipse Serenity for the first time;D
