Blue Sun Room GRAPHICS - IMAGES

River

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

Ok, so I really struggled to find the right pictures and given ample time (and screencaps) I could probably come up with several more wallpapers that all describe a different aspect of River - she has so many...dimensions? as a character, there is just so many characteristics its hard to pick just one that "defines" River. I could tell you my interpretation, but I'd rather hear yours ;)- Anyway, let me know what you think!

O.O Whoah..

Artistic analysis: You've got a good eye for picking images. I like how you've chosen one shot from the start of the series and one from 'Objects In Space'. It shows how much River has progressed on the show.

I love the middle section with Serenity almost looking like it's part of the wall. I love how River's name is aligned with the cargo bay section - where she was first introduced to the crew.

The whole thing also shows how she's made Serenity her home.

I really like this series of wallpapers Nidrian. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Cos! I appreciate the analysis - I always find it interesting to see what other people notice and how other people interpret it versus what I was thinking when I made it. Very Shiny!

I definitely have to agree with CosmicFugitive about the mixing of imagery from "Serenity" and "Objects in Space" to track River's development as an individual throughout the series!

However, I also gotta make note of how River is reacting to her surroundings in each shot. The shot of River in the infirmary from "Serenity" seems to show River resting her head against a wall or something (though it's probably just how the image was cropped;D) while the shot from "Objects in Space" has her only touching the walls with her hand (and deck with her feet). There's a sense of development of reduced need for tactile contact with Serenity to help River find a stabilizing fator...a concept of less touch being needed to allow her to find a state of being between complete lucidity (which would be just as craptacular as complete insanity for River at that moment) and complete insanity where she can function;D

Then again...that's just me;)
