OK so here's the first of three slightly different wallpapers that I did. Basically all thats different are the effects that the pics of captain and the river were put through. This is the most...interesting...not my favorite but I like it in a weird way.

If I didn't know it was supposed to be River...I wouldn't have correctly identified the person in the blue imagery:(

It took me a moment to find River untill I realized it was the upside down profile I love so much. Once you know that, it's pretty hard to miss her.

I have to comment here again becaue I just looked at the other two and this one is my favorite. There are many reasons it stikes my fancy and I'm going to ramble a bit while I explain.
One: the way they're almost being eaten up by the shadows.
Two: how their faces are indistinct and almost abstracted.
Both of these work really well with my understanding of the characters and thier states of mind throughtout most of the film
And the upside down River works really well with the distortion I think. In the other two you can see her right away. Here you have to hunt for her a little bit and alter your way of looking at it. We automatically look for eyes at the top, mouth at the bottom and so on when told there is a face to see. When things aren't as we expect them we stumble and get lost, which is pretty much how River lives her life. She lives in a state of altered perception where nothing is what we consider normal.

Thanks Kayna for the shiny comment. I liked the abstractness of it too. The symbolic meaning was an added bonus :)
