Very shiny Kayna! I've made many a mess with pastels - fun isn't it?

Indead it is Fiddlestix. This one was a doosey though. What with the solid black background and using canvas paper (I wanted the texture) and my tendancy to scratch my face without thinking about it. I looked a little like the chimney sweeps in Mary Poppins.

How pimpin' is that! Firefly Simpsons and a hand-drawn Serenity logo in the same day. It'll be hard to top that...
I mean, the fact that it resembes the logo in any way, much less to that extent, is fabulous. I'm too impatient to take the time (3 hours??). I bow to your superior pastel skills.

Mother of god, and all her wacky cousins! This is exceptionally good work. Your pastel technique is awesome. But truly fabulous is your use of light. You actually, literally, made it "shiny". :)
Everything about it is amazing; the distortions, the font, the light, everything.

This is very beautiful. I have a tendency to smear any and everything when I use pastels so my images come out looking blurry. This is crisp and detailed. You should be very proud of this piece of artwork :).

Kayna, this is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I'm not artistic enough to comment on light and color and ability... I just know that I gasped when I saw it.
It's lovely.

You captured the light source perfectly - the medalian actually glows.
You made the Dreaded Papyrus font look good too. Nice work.
I'm a big believer in conte crayons, myself. More control like colored pencil, covers more area, less mess.
