Bound to happen, Mal supposed. Not the part about him and a certain Companion finally taking the tumble. When all was said and done, that almost felt like the hand of fate intervening to make it so.
Not that he minded that sorta interference. Hell, he welcomed it almost. The fact that this unattainable creature could be attained, by as unlikely a fella as him. That she felt warm and right and real in his arms.
That part he was all manner of OK with.
It was the devil whispering in his ear that was the problem.
What was she like before?
All practice and polish and wiles, with skills that men would hand over fortunes to experience. A far cry from his fallen angel who didn’t mind him smudging her up just a bit. Whatever they had, it was surely not practiced or polished. It was messy, raw and above all, needful. But there was no art, no grace to any of it.
What would it be like? the devil wanted to know. Would you even be able to tell the difference? Or is this all for your benefit, since you aren’t high-bred enough to recognize quality goods?
That particular devil, he was persistent, Mal had to give him that. And came visiting at the most inopportune moments. Sometimes, he could hear the little bastard in time to his thrusts in and out of her.
Is this what she felt like for good ol’ Ath? Is she holding back on you?
In response to the devil’s queries, Mal would change the timing, or graze teeth across her neck, just to feel her bear down on him, so that when he came, he could ignore the hwoo dan for those few moments of sharp bliss. But the sum’bitch would never completely leave him in peace.
You want to know, don’t you? You want to know just what it would feel like to have all those years of training tighten down on your cock, don’t you? Just to know if it feels any different. Just once.
Yeah, just once.
I would think he would realize that Inara is probably more with him than less - or holding back. Being a companion is all about control, as Mal describes, their relationship is about anything but ...
Also, kudos on using a song from "Chess." Definitely an underrated show - imho!
You can't take the sky from me
I think it begs for a companion (or perhaps "Companion") piece - perhaps to the tune of "Nobody's Side"?
But what I wanna see is the flip side. Cuz I would bet a lot of cashy money that Inara's not all calm and collected her own self about having an intimate relationship with someone who's never had to restrain himself when with someone...someone rebellious. Gotta cause some pause;)
