I am a Lyricist/Songwriter at heart, and stories are a little "out of my range" most of the time. So here is my latest piece, dedicated to the Character of River Tam, as viewed by her Brother Simon..... It has a melody..... sort of.

River’s Rising

If you’d really like to see her

take a good look on the ground

at a broken shattered picture puzzle

scattered all around

She is screaming on the inside

from a hundred million fears

When I speak I’m sure she’s listening

but I’m not sure what she hears

River’s crying....

A flood of tears

She’s been broken into pieces

torn away from all she knows

Running scared down nightmare tunnels

never knowing where they go

How I wish that I could save her

But I don’t see what she sees

How I hope that she can find her way

to the place where she’ll be free

River’s flowing....

Away from me

All I want is river’s happiness

And I long to see her smile

All I give to her is everything

And she makes it worth my while

When I see that she is struggling

Then I know that she’ll stand tall

I know that she wants to come home

And I’ll catch her if she falls
