“Well, Here I am.”
As I floated along in space it came to me that I may have always been HERE. Maybe it was I who stayed constant and the universe moved around me. Maybe by enacting my will I could force the universe to move in such a position that I was floating within the airlock of my ship. Then again, maybe I could give myself a splitting headache trying to do the impossible. After all, the universe is a very big thing, and I don’t think I have enough will to move it all.
That girl had no right to go poking around in the depths of my head, much less mess around with my ship. I watched the stars for a while, steady dots of light, spread out on the dark curtain of night. I hate deep space.
I wonder if there really is a here if there’s nothing there. Is it here if no one travels to or through it? Am I here if no one thinks about me? Do I exist anywhere except in people’s thoughts? Well I exist in my thoughts, so I guess as long as I’m thinkin’ them I exist. That’s sort of comforting.
I wonder if I should turn off the oxygen in my suit. It would mean this interminable waiting would be over. I could find out what comes after. That’s not the way I was raised. Leave each moment like it’s your last, experience life to the fullest. Well I guess in this case it is a literal truth, any moment could be my last. Maybe I’ll be able to experience my death to the fullest.
That girl was more trouble than any two arsonist midgets. I can see now why her reward is so high. It seemed odd to me that a little girl was worth so many credits when she had never appeared on the ‘nets. Maybe she’s a lion.
I like the thought of imbuing myself with the spirit of an animal. A lion is a perfect beast for me. Noble, fierce, strong that’s the creature I am.
Am I going to continue pursuing this girl? I have 200,000 very good reasons to pursue her. Next time I’ll be more careful. Maybe I’ll gas bomb the ship. I’m definitely going to shoot that doctor again. I think I’ll find out all of the wounds he’s treated, and
*clapclapclap!*
