Sorry I know this is pretty stupid but I've always thought of Taylor Hicks to be the coolest singer around and I'm very Glad he one. This sparked my interest. (And yes I know that anyone wearing a Browncoat doesn't mean that they know Firefly)

I have heard he used to wear Hawaiian shirts during performances with his band. Of course I think of Wash. ^-^

I've never had the pressing need to sit through a episode of American Idol myself, but from what I hear about this Hicks' fella, I'm glad he won this round. Guy seems to have some real talent, even plays instruments. Most of the "musicians" they put up on Idol are little more than Pretty Face / Pretty Voice combos (nothing wrong with that, just glad to see someone with a more diversified talent win the day.)
