You're the best for helping me out like this! I take it you bought one of the pricey but shiney Abbeyshot coats?

I'm gonna go about this slightly different. I have all my friends scavenging dumpsters for old leather sofas. Then I'll sew the leather inside the sleeve and folded back over so that you can't see the rough edges. Hopefully this'll look fairly similar to Mal's.

Yeah, I think thats a better way to do it than abbyshot did, let me know if it works. And yes I did get an abbyshot, It's a great quality coat, just the wrong damn colour , still at least it's brown
