A Cool New Show! (sarcasm)
Friday, 09 December 2005 01:43:08

Firefly had to be taken off the air for awesome shows like Fox's new "Skating with Celebrities" The Guy from Full House skates with Nancy Kerrigan... so many possibilities! MUST WATCH!

Do Reavers recruit or was Bushwacked a fluke?
Friday, 09 December 2005 02:57:27

What do we know about Reavers? I'm a zombie-fan, more or less. Zombies, I understand. They bite, you get infected and you become one yourself. But reavers? I believe that exposing a sain person to that kind of horror, to that kind of nothing, you may become nothing. They don't reproduce but they fly a mean attack ship. Is this a bad period of human history? Is it not a question of time before reavers - as a sub-species die off from the face of the 'verse? (You may hide spoilers, but I don't care either way)

Fanfics, movies, and tests, oh my!

My week has been nothing but busy. At least I've found the time to update my fanfic "Have Wings, Will Fly". Go read it! I'm very proud of how it's going so far. Once all the backstory/escape plot is out of the way, I can focus more on secular adventures/romances/shipboard relationships, 'cause we all know that's the best part! I finally received my 2nd degree brownbelt yesterday after my complete nerve-wracking test that they put me through on Saturday. Only one and a half belts away from blackbelt. Shouldn't be long, now! (OK, maybe a year. Not long considering I've been going at it for 7 or 8 years. Lost count) Is anyone else super excited to see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe on Friday? I've been waiting for this since I was little! C.S. Lewis is amazing. Like Joss. Joss is amazing. They have something in common! My plan to host a shindig at my house for the release of Serenity has hit a minor pitfall, but I'm pretty sure I can work around it. My mom called the folks that asked me to babysit their three kids on the 19th and said I'd do it, when I told her that I "was busy" on the 19th. Busy being hosting a Firefly Marathon, getting up early, and rushing out to buy Serenity and watching it over breakfast. My shindig might turn out to be more of an all afternoon/night thing on Tuesday instead. Oh, well. I'm not too worried. I'm excited to prepare some of the meals on the Serenity website, like Jayne's pie and Mudder's Milk. December 20th is officially "Celebrating the Amazing Amazingness that is Firefly Day"

I've Had an Absolutly Fabulous Week

I'm caught up on all my studying and I'm done with 2 out of 5 of my finals. Plus today was the last official day of class for me. And I found most of my textbooks for next quarter on amazon.com for super shiny prices. Oh, and I have I mentioned that my birthday is exactly one month from today? Oh yeah, on January 8th I will be 18. Can you say party? Oh yeah and of course Serenity in 12 days! And Christmas! Christmas is coming! HUUURRRAAAYYY!!!!!

Starting to Wonder About Everyone Here Being Psychic Genii
Friday, 09 December 2005 07:39:31

It's funny....been trolling this site since I came across it this past summer, though only officially joined up recently (shameful, I know ). I am still consistanly amazed at all the shiny stuff we few, the proud, the Browncoats manage to produce on a fairly regular basis. But that's where my problem sets in: you guys and gals are just too gorram psychic for your own good! :banghead: Now, before everyone starts wondering about what the diyu I am rambling about, please understand that my issue comes more from personal frustration than true ire at everyone. The isssue is this: every time I think up a cool idea to throw down in a fanfic, I either discover it has been done either exactly the way I imagined it or pretty close awhile ago in a fanfic...or, as with Kaynara's Bedlam series, have just seen the wonderful idea I wanted to try out done quite well just recently. I guess my frustration comes from the fact that I would feel like a petty thief if I wrote something that had elements seeming taken from other members' fanfics (even though that would be untrue). All these amazing tales make me wanna add to them real badly like, but...I don't wanna seem like I am trying to gain something through theiving someone else's stuff. Anybody ever have these kinds of thoughts?

It's opening day here for Narnia, and I awoke to a winter wonderland... everything is covered in pristine, white snow... what a clever marketing ploy
