So I was watching [i]Troy[/i] today, mostly for the eye candy (Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, and Peter O'Toole, yes I said Peter O'Toole), and I was struck by the similarities between Hektor and Faramir in LotR (the book, not the movie). They are both exceptional warriors and great leaders (their men love them and follow them because of that love, not fear), but only fight to defend their country and their family. They do not enjoy fighting in and of itself and would be happier if they never had to draw sword again and could live in peace. I can easily hear Hektor saying "...I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend..." which is my favorite quote of Faramir's. Granted, I'm only halfway through [u]The Iliad[/u] so I don't know if the character of Hektor is the same in the poem as in the movie. We all know how completely things can get changed around in the transition from the page to the screen (Exhibit A being what happend to Faramir's character in the movies), but at least between the Hektor of the movie and the Faramir of the book, there seem to be many parallels. No wonder I love them both. :smile:

"Just once, I'd like things to go according to the gorram plan." Okay, I got good news and bad news. [b]Good news:[/b] I am going to make BWAH! available for download in the very near future! This means it is free! :biggrin: [b]Bad news:[/b] The reason being is I can not find a competent local printer :disappointed: to do what I'd like, sooo fans will have to accept whatever quality they can print themselves, most likely with no printed backs on the cards. This means that you will have to keep seperate the (now 4) different types of cards (character, profession, action and health) :banghead:, which isn't a big deal, I guess. Also, it means I need to find webspace to host the game so it can be downloaded, as well as convert the rules into an easily printable downloadable document such as a .pdf file. I will, however, post the card backing as well, so anyone who is savvy enough and wants to try can print them that way. I do recommend that if you have access to color laser printer and glossy cardstock, that is the way to go. The cards are so very pretty when printed that way. Much prettier and better organized than before + it has almost all the award banners on it (winning authors, be patient, we're digging up everyone's email addy to send out the banners.
