Well it been awhile since I last bloged but alot has gone on. We finially finished with the 12 hrs shifts at work, I am back to my normal shift. There are a lot of troops here training, over 3000 so far. The weather has turned off HOT, over 90 some days with high humidity lots of heat casualties. Nothing major so far. Today we answered a fire call at a building, the gate to the building was half open and I got out to open it. The truck driver drove off and left me at the gate, I had to run to the build in full turn-out gear in this heat. I am glad it was a flase alarm but it took us over thirdy minutes to find the alarm box and shut it off (old building). I was soaked with sweat but that is how it is here and I enjoy it.

SWEETALKER

I saw two episodes of Firefly when it was still on the Fox network: The Train Job (which served as its pilot, even though it wasn't the pilot) and Shindig. I didn't really understand the series then, I'll admit. It wasn't until a young woman taking a tour through the building called me "Kaylee" that I remembered the show at all. "Kaylee?" I said. "Like the mechanic on TV?" She squealed, and hugged me. "Yes! I'm so happy that somebody else knows who she is! I've got some DVDs to show you!" Was it the red hair? The grease smudged on my face and overalls? Or the fact that I was underneath a console, installing new switches? I may never know. I never saw her again after that day. But true to her word, she sent me the whole dang series, and my love affair with the show began. So yes, the story in "This Is Not A Fanfic" is real. Very very few details had to be changed; mostly names. The station is a historical landmark now; it was literally falling apart at the seams when Boss bought it and started running it -- which was a strange thing to do; most people with the money to buy things like radio stations (or spaceships) can't be bothered to actually run them, and hire underlings to do their dirty work.

Well, my riders and fellow authors of all things 'Firefly' :biggrin: ...I am taking the weekend to enjoy the finer things in life, such as the ever mounting piles of books I really need to read. :blush: I left you all on a happy note though so no complaining. Besides, for the week, I think I averaged a chapter and a half a day.....my wrists are tired.. :crap: I promise new stuff on Monday and I will still be in to comment on all your wonderful work. :smile: Other than that, I got a book calling. :kiss:
