Bloody Blair... Another 4/5 years of him, unless he does a Thatcher and resigns part way through this term (yeah, and when he does, he'll give his job to Robert Kilroy-Silk...). This is a follow-up to my last blog, which pessimistically suggested that Blair would end up back in power no matter what -- as Mal would say, "It's a real burden being right so often." P.S. Sorry for the rant...

A serious plea, and I'm sure that it's been said before: please, please, please for those of you who have seen the BDM already (I hope that you all had a fabulous time!)--*please* put spoiler notices in your msg titles. I'm sure that I'm among the many who don't want even a whiff of spoil until September and don't want to stumble into one. Elsewise we're gonna have to go Tycho and Gabe on ya :naughty: Thanks! :kiss:

just got back from the melbourne shindig! so many people that there wasn't enough time to talk to everyone, but I had SUCH an awesome time! everyone was great and we had lots of fun. I'm really looking forward to the next one...we MUST have more we stole helium balloons off these other tables...and a few of us had fun singing The ballad of Serenity...with extra high voices.. in other news... I have 7 more weeks of tafe left...and a few assignments coming up(yay...not)

Many people here will have witnessed the unpleasantness on the official Serenity boards. 'Fans' posting spoilers in plain view, in the header so it appears on the front page and even posting fake spoilers. What a bunch of jerks. I mean, seriously, even if you came out of the movie thinking that every second you spent watching it was an insult to your parents, show some respect to others. Thankfully this place seems to be unaffected. Let's hope it stays that way because I'd hate to see this very amiable forum descend into troll hell. In the words of Sir Alfred Hitchcock "It's only a moooovie." Oh, and avoid the official board like the plague until September 30th.

IAMZOE

...is Nathan Fillion. He's right up there with Nathan Wiley now - it must be the name. I didn't even realise he was Canadian until I read it in the booklet at the Serenity convention, and usually I'm pretty good at accents. It must have been his west coast thing - I was a Maritimer for a short while. A short while that has left me with constant cravings (see what I did there? Song title references - I believe in CanCon) for Tim Hortons coffee, an over-fondness for the Gilmore Girls (the set looks so east coast), some misplaced affection for hockey and occasional middling-to-strong urges to emigrate. I especially want to emigrate when I remember that the little town I am trapped in is on a par with Jaynestown: not only are they busy fete-ing bad guys, they are, quite literally, celebrating reivers (or reavers) over the next month. Still, at least we have alcohol almost as strong to help us get through it. I shouldn't complain though, as I did get out this last weekend, and spent some enjoyable time in a hotel near London Heathrow, where I was pleasantly surprised (though really I shouldn't have expected less) by how friendly all the cast and all the fans were at Starfury's Serenity, and particularly what great questions people asked in all the panel sessions. I was far too star-struck (by the crowd and by the presence of people who I've seen being heroes on screen) to ask anything. I did, however, dance like a loon. I fitted right in. It was great. I've never been to anything like that before. I've never seen dancing like that before either.

UNCHARTEDOUTLAW

Okay, be warned...whiney mode is on here, but with reason. I have spent more time this semester (read, since Jan 25) sick than I have spent healthy! It's like I'll just start getting over one thing in time to get something new. Allergies are rampant. Actually got a full blown sinus infection last week. Experienced one of those salt water sinus rinses for the first time. Very strange watching water pour out one nostril when you know that you're forcing into the other one! Now I learn that there are lymph glands at the back of your head...behind the ears! Those have just swollen up, making turning my head kinda painful! Is this one of those special parts of Hell Book didn't tell us about? *sigh*
