bwah! that's right, and i'll say it again- BWAH-FREAKIN-HA! i have several friends coming over tomorrow after school to watch firefly until we get some vegetarian food and go see the bdm! none of them are even vaugely aware of what the big deal is- but they will find out. bwah. i will dress awesomely. and i will wear jayne hat before and a grin all the while. conversions to firefly are fun (almost as fun as Jesus!). i only wish i was surrounded by more browncoats in the va area. everybody seems so far away. *sigh* that's what i get for living in the most educated town in the south. did i mention i'm making my brother dress up as wash? my almost-14-year-old brother with blond hair and blue eyes who will convert every preteen girl within a hundred foot radius? i've sunk low to be manipulating him like this- but anything for the bdm! (i'd like to think i've managed to convert a few souls this way too :)) enjoy everyone! i'll have a grand tale to tell tomorrow! though as i predict the log space with be constricted by then! i hope y'all hrs ahead of me are loving it! *kisses*

Cowgirl and I dropped by the hotel to say hi to everyone. Ashley gave us the tickets we bought and name tags. We met several of the folk gathering there. They were going out to get booze and eat. Then they were going to have a firefly marthon. I suspect they will be almost recovered by the time tomorrows events start.

On another board I frequent one of the regulars said that she wasn't interested in a movie that couldn't be described in two sentences. So this is what I came up with. Serenity is a movie based on a canceled (not failed, don't ever use that word) Fox tv series from 2002, one which told the story of outcasts in a new terraformed solar system, who traveled the 'verse looking for work, legal or illegal, just to keep out of the way of the totalitarian Alliance, the system wide government which has ruled with an iron hand ever since they defeated a movement for independence by individual planets. The title of the film is taken from the name of the spaceship manned by this eclectic crew of adventurers, but the film itself is anything but serene, in fact it is one of the most intense cinematic experiences I have ever witnessed, one that I think I will grow to love more and more each time I see it, and one which I believe any lover of good films can enjoy even if they are not normally science fiction fans, mainly because the writer and director, Joss Whedon, has created such great characters and situations that most people should have no difficulty identifying with. And here's another two sentence blurb: Serenity kicks ass! So does River.

When I saw those words at the top of the page.... just wow. I've already seen the BDM,but now it becomes official, and it's out there, in the 'verse.....finally. As Simon said to River.... ' It's time to wake up'
