Hey all Well, tonight's my last night here in the city. After I go to GRIZZLY MAN at the RPL, my brother is going to drive me home to the farm, where I'll be working all the way to Xmas and hopefull earn enought to live off of during the winter semester till May, where hopefully I'll have a job working on a film set. But for now, I'll be at the farm for the majority of Dec. I have to be back here on the 15th for my only final. I'm kinda looking forward to this weekend in particular. I'll have the entire house to myself. All I gotta do is take care of the dogs. I can spend the rest of that time on the treadmill listening to all the audiobooks I've burned from the library and watching some of the DVD's I've accumulated through the year but havn't had a chance to watch. But most importantly, I'll be getting to finally work on YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN. Now that I have no more obligations, I'll be able to focus on the story and finish the damn thing. I've been at this story for almost a year. That's how massive the damn thing has gotten to be. But I promised myself I'll finish it by the end of the year, so the next chapter should hopefully be up by Sunday. And for those wondering what I have in store, all I gotta say is this. It is going to be fucking huge. Both on a massive and a personal level. BTW, just so that I can cater to you guys, what would you like to call River's band. I was thinking The Children of Sound, but that sounds too new agey and not "voice of a disaffected generation"y. Any suggestions?

I saw Serenity in theatres and I have to hand it to Joss Whedon- it was awesome. They were true to the show and they kept it alive in the movie. However, I was SO upset that Wash died! It was so unexpected. Personally, I so much would have rathered Inara died. As much as she's a cool character, I really don't care for her all that much. Especially since she's so totally in love with Mal but is too proud to tell him. And Mal's just thick when it comes to Inara. Shepard Book dying.. Well, I don't care for him all that much either. I was just mad that we never got to find out what he had to do with the Alliance- he had a lot of secrets that he took to the grave. That scene when the doors open and River's standing there, dead reavers at her feet, holding a weapon in each hand, was pretty awesome. And that part when Simon tells Kaylee while they're on Miranda that he wished he got to spend more time with her, and Kaylee says "Oh, to heck with this, I want to live!" was pretty cool too. But what now? The show was cancelled. The movie came out. Will Joss Whedon ever start it back up again? Will Mal ever go back to God? What will happen to Zoey now that Wash is dead? Will Kaylee and Simon stay together? Will Book's secrets be unearthed? Will the Alliance be defeated? Will the Browncoats and the Rebels start a rebellion and destroy the Alliance now that Miranda's secret has been told? Oh, and why did Mr. Universe have to die? I liked him.

Hello, My local Browncoats and I have been brainstorming about how to reach people outside the 'verse. I don't know what efforts you have already made to bring people to this wonderful world, but the DVD release is not the end. Twelve months from now, this DVD will still be available at your local stores. So efforts to increase sales are not at an end. Someone mentionned printing business cards with your local Browncoat blog address on it. If you strike a conversation on the street about Firefly, you give a card. Organise a shindig, cook some bao (or buy it, cause it's tricky to do) and try to bring a friend. Then you all vote on what episodes to watch together. Our shindigs are pretty much booze-free and fun was had by all. Word to mouth is my favorite because it costs nothing and you get a good conversation out of it. If you think of other ways to spread the word, feel free to mention it here. Reminders: Folk are free to reject the 'verse and it's crazy cast... When you buy your DVD: Be nice. Make it a civil stampede...
