Got home from college, and i'm bored stiff (not in that way ladies). So I thought, lets make a wallpaper. Racked my brains for something to do, and remembered one of my fave quotes from the series. Took like, half an hour to make. Pretty simple stuff. But it says what I feel. Although i'm blocked as to what I should make next. Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Until then, adios amigos. (Wish me luck in my future endevours)

How I got around to being here
Wednesday, 28 February 2007 11:40:47

Wanted to write about this yesterday and, of course, didn't. But now is as good as any time. Along with that I should probably take the time for a couple of words on my person. It's way less strange then to read about why I'm actually here. So, first for the rough details. I'm 27 years, going 28 this April, live in southern Germany. I study English and spend most of my time online. Why? Because I have no friends? Hardly. But because currently it is one of the few medias I can actually graps. Sounds strange, is that way though. I happen to be visually challanged / all the way blind (depending on the legal system you're in - they've got all sorts of funny definitions on when a person is actually considered to be blind). Other than that I work at a DVD rental place to make some extra money during semesters. Which is real fun with people rarely even noticing that there's something not quite the way it should be. I'm stealthy like that. *g* Firefly. During the past couple of years I've heard rumors about the show. Nothing much. Couldn't get a hold of it for the longest time, mainly because I wasn't trying hard enough. The show just wasn't on sale anywhere near me - and back then I honestly didn't think about amazon. No idea why. Then the movie came out and a friend of mine had me watch it. At the time, not having seen the series before, it didn't make much sense to me. I basically shrugged it off. A couple of months back though a friend of mine - with whom I do a lot of roleplaying (one of my main hobbies) told me about the show again and how great it was and that I should honestly give it another shot. Best advice I've ever gotten out of a person thus far. So during a stay in Dublin I picked up the DVD box as well as the movie, seeing as they had it on sale there. Ha! As soon as my trip ended I sat down and watched what I'd gotten. And got hooked. And read up on the 'verse. Ordered every book that there is (eventhough I can't read them *g*) and did some research on browncoats and the like. In the end I was asking myself - how the hell do you actually become a browncoat? Better yet, let the other browncoats know that you're there! So I stumbled around on www.browncoats.com and eventually found my way here. Lots of stuff, lots of people - who strangly enough are all sorts of friendly. Odd. I should give it a try! And I did. So... Now I'm here, trying to get to know a couple of you. Funny thing is... Usually I'm known for being either very easy to have around - or for being the most arrogant person around (that is if you don't make the effort to actually read _exactly_ what I'm writing - people get confused so easily). Only here things seem to be all different. Well, I guess we'll see how that pans out. Curious to get to know more. Always curious about the folks around. First day on board has passed now. And I keep on flyin'.

Joss Whedon Is My Master Now
Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:30:12

I happened to stumble across ThinkGeek last week and found out that they sell t-shirts with the actual slogan "Joss Whedon Is My Master Now!" across them. What more could I ask for? It totally made my day, so I ordered a couple - one for me and one for my best friend's birthday - and they arrived on Monday! It made me so happy, I'm wearing mine now and I can't wait to wear it out and about, and see if anyone acknowledges it. In a fellow Whedon-fan way, not in a "you're really pathetic" kinda way. Jen (aforementioned best friend and fellow Browncoat) was all excited for me when she found out about it, and I bet she's thinking of getting one herself. So I'm really looking forward to giving her her presents (which I'll do as soon as the last little thing arrives) and see her reaction. It will be a good day :-D

A rather sad realization...

As I type away on my laptop, my wife lies next to me, begging and pleading to read my little screenplay. I've told her repeatedly that it's nearly finished. And now, it just about is. I'm actually quite saddened by this prospect. I've poured so much time and energy into this project, I hate to let it go. I'm not sure if I'll do any continuation once the credits have rolled, but we'll see. I'll be posting the next chapter soon. Many thanks to all those who've taken the time to read and comment on my work. Or play, really. It's more fun than anything. Rob O.

Here's the thing. She gets to see them all daily. She has a great job she obviously enjoys, she gets to wear lovely clothes and live in a lovely shuttle, plus she gets to be involved in all kinds of thrilling heroics..

We're nearing the end of the season. Remember the flash-forward-future scene in the first episode and in another a bit later? Yeah, we're just about there...

(posted on myspace) I have a potential date on Saturday, with someone I have never met. I do not like to be looked at. This may pose a problem.
