Any Houston Browncoats here?
Sunday, 02 July 2006 05:53:58

I'll be traveling to Houston tommorrow and staying in N. Houston area where we have an Ahmadiyya Mosque... Hope I can hook up with some Browncoats there-abouts. I'll be staying at the mosque and helping out around the property, checking the area out. Will be staying til the end of July. I checked out www.HoustonBrowncoats.com and noted they have a meeting once a month at Star Pizza, but I have no idea if that's near where I'll be or not. All I know is the mosque is near a Greyhound bus station on Homestead, and our mosque two freeway exits away from the GWB Intercontinental airport. E-mail me at: maghaffar@wayoftheseekers.com if any of this is nearby to any Houston BCs... Stay Shiny Y'all. --Jonathan M.A.Ghaffar

Just Stepped Aboard
Sunday, 02 July 2006 06:49:38

A friend just invited me "aboard" Firefly. How can it be that I and most of my friends never knew this existed? I was "distracted" in 2002, but not that much. Was it aired at 3AM? Since the series aired I have been to Iraq and would have loved to spend some nights in my hooch watching Firefly while discerning the mortar blasts outside from the action on screen. Since I purchased the series DVDs and the movie I can't stop cursing Fox TV nor praising Universal. The electrons carrying my emails to Fox (the curses) and Universal (the praises) are on the way. My gratitude to Joss and the entire Firefly/Serenity team for excellence.

Serenity: Ship! Valley! Cheesecake?
Sunday, 02 July 2006 23:37:56

My memory is a bit hazy...but I remember looking through a cookbook awhile back and coming upon a recipe "Serenity Cheesecake". Strange eh? Even stranger are the ingredients. One cup of creativity. Add a sprinkle of good acting. Deep fry in excellent dialouge. Add and stir with soul. Cook until perfection. - Aha! Creative writing strikes again! (a trumpet sounds in the distance)
