...and then I came to my senses.
Sunday, 16 April 2006 04:07:10

Well, it seems my brain actually started working sometime on Wednesday and I realized that this weekend was Easter. Looks like I won't be getting the rest of Chapter 1 of Pot23C finished until sometime next week. Sorry about that. I really am a procrastinator, so I'm very sorry if you were expecting frequent updates from me. I'm a busy (and alright, lazy) person. And, I finally fixed that annoying BF: 1942 bug. w00t! ~WG out

Sunday..4-16-06 Happy Easter update time
Sunday, 16 April 2006 11:22:31

Well I finally got a day off and a break from Air Conditioning start ups.. This last week has been a real B***ch with a capitol B.. I did manage to finish my pinup for the TBP and a couple of other drawings....But after working almost 14 hours a day in and on rooftops I don't wanna do much but crash out when I get home... On the plus side I lost almost 15 lbs this week and on the down side I got me the first sunburn of the season... Still haven't heard a peep out of either IDW or Sulaco studios on my three covers of Angel so I'm just gonna post here a while...

Days of Jack
Sunday, 16 April 2006 13:04:53

I've been harbouring these ideas for a long time. For this chapter, I really did my homework.
In this episode, we find out that Jack has Schizophrenia. I did some research on it, found out symptoms, and included these in Simon's speech to the crew. I decided I wanted an enemy I could be be frightened of, and I decided that a man of incredible strength and intelligence having almost no control over his actions would be something really frightning.
Schizophrenia is a real disease, and real people have to fight symptoms similar to those described every day of their life. If you would like to find out more about schizophrenia, go to

Dad

Here it is Easter Sunday I just felt like adding a little blog here. I don't know why today of all days I wanted to put this down in a post I can't answer that. My Dad. One of the toughest men I knew. When I say tough I don't mean he would get in a bar room tussel and be the last man standing. I mean here is a family man, went to the same job for 40 years and did it very well. Came home in the afternoon, kissed his wife and did repairs on the house. There was always something broken. Did he get angry at times? Yes, but he never hurt any of his kids or mom. two years after he died I saw a hardhat on a self in the laundry room. I asked my mother about it. she said "It was your fathers" and a month after he retired she wanted to throw it out. He stopped her by asking her not to. One of the few times I'd known of any sentimental emotion of my dad. That hat still sits on that self. Happy Easter Dad:smile:

Browncoat sighting
Sunday, 16 April 2006 14:51:48

Yesterday at the gym I was on the eliptical machine when Ron Glass jumped on the treadmill right in front of me. I didn't say anything because that would have been the height of rudeness to interrupt the man in the middle of his workout, but it was pretty cool. Especially since I never see any celebrities in this town. I've seen two people I recognized since I moved here in September, but Ron Glass was the first real actor. And a Browncoat to boot. Hell yeah. His hair is shorter now and I don't think he had any facial hair, but he's in really good shape for a man his age.

I've gone off the deep end of the cargo bay
Sunday, 16 April 2006 21:50:59

Okay, you all must understand that I'm sort of an in the closet FF fan. Not to say I'm not a proud brown coat and have even given the BDM on DVD as gifts, not to mention the numberous times I've told people to get into the 'verse. But my husband, although has seen all the episodes and BDM w/ me, loves them and wished there were more, thinks I am more than a little rediculous for spending hours a day reading fan fic and hoping for news that each and every week a new episode of firefly will come on t.v. for me to add to my shrine of FF love. So I couldn't exactly say "Hi honey, I've started having Firefly dream" So here goes. I had a firefly dream last night. Now I don't mean to sound crazy, but I've always suffered from night terrors and sleep walking so having a good dream is rare, let alone a firefly dream. (I was so excited) So here is my dream. I was reading this really cool bit of fan fic that included like screen caps of what was going on and it was really detailed anynow it was a mix of Shindig, Objects in Space and Serenity the pilot. but also of this fanfic someone wrote where in simon is mentally fixing all of his mistakes with Kaylee. (Now I was dreaming so it won't all make sense okay.) There is the Lord whoever guy from Shindig except he's evil now and he's snuck onto the ship inorder to capture Mal. Well Kaylee's in the cargo bay in something like the outfit that sandra bullock wears in Miss Congeniality as she's doing the talent competition but her hair is just this huge massive pile of curls. Anyhow she hears some one coming and they shoot her in the belly except than all the sudden she says "wait, I can just fix this" and she jumps behind this purple glittery mini old time "horseless carriage" and so when the evil guy walks in he doesn't see her and goes go looking for members of the crew. Well the engine of the mini purple thing suddenly grows lips and tells kaylee to warn the others (because engines talk to her maybe?) So she grabs her shoes and slides out the window because suddenly the ships not the ship it's a red cottage they're staying in, it looks really nice and since the window she's jumping out of is on the second floor she's on a balcony and she jumps into the room river and simon are staying in and tells him to act like she (kaylee) is a whore and make out with her on the bed so that the guy doesn't catch him and turn him in to the alliance meanwhile river wraps herself in blankets and lays at the foot of simons bed so it looks like they've just kicked off the bedding while getting it on and it's all wadded into a pile on the bed. So the big scary evil lord guy comes in and Kaylee's like covering Simon's body with hers and yells at the man to give her some space to make some coin with. The guy says he wants to have a go next and she said "Well this guy's rented me out for the whole night so let me give you my card. She reaches into her bag and gives him the card of the women who made her outfit for her and the guy leaves. My son woke up at that point so I don't know how it ended. But there it is, I feel better having gotten it out since it's been going through my mind all day. Anyone want to try to be my dream interpreter here or should I just chaulk it up to thinking about how to finish "hidden truths" before going to bed. I wonder if I could work that into my ending? although how do I explain the outfit. -sillylittleduck

i had this whole big rant written about this person i know who was being a complete troll about serenity and the browncoats, saying there wasn't that many of us and we weren't going to achieve anything real and he was talking all the way through serenity and offering us all pirate copies of the BDM and just basically being a complete ass...ooh, i'm all fired up now. right, my friend (charis, otherwise known as bob) and i went to our other friend's *heather) house and i brought my firefly and serenity DVDs 'cause that's the kind of gal i am. unknown to me, two others were coming (rhino and the troll). i'd bulldozed them all into watching serenity and they were all being okay about it (there was alcohol involved  it's the only way. i mean, heather and bob actually named themselves the anti-sci-fi brigade, but back to the rant). except the troll. not only did he spend the whole night making fun of me and being really sexist and rough with me (he's a six foot six walking ball of muscle-bound testosterone. i'm a skinny little five foot tall teenage girl. even rhino told him to back off, but did he? nooooooooo, 'cause he's mister i'm-so-cool-and-strong-with-my-tae-kwon-do-that's-so-much-more-important-than-passing-higher-english) but he talked all the way through the small part of serenity that we managed to watch. we gave up when we realised there would be no way to hear what was going on over little gems such as this pair: "oh, this bit's really cool. it's the best bit in the whole film. it's really funny. listen. you missed it. go and put it back so they can see it again." they missed it anyway. "i'm playing triple x in my head. i can do it word perfect every time. it's better than this." WHAT?!? it was the part with the reavers chasing the mule out of town!! how the hell can vin fricking diesel talking in a funny accent be more exciting than a heart-pounding, palm-sweating, breath-stealing chase which may result in the horrible, bloody, violent deaths of our heroes?!? and you know what the worst part was? not only did he talk through the movie and prevent everyone else enjoying it and dismiss the browncoats as "a small bunch of weirdos" who will achieve "pretty much nothing" because we're all too busy "signalling the mothership and telling spock to beam us up", but he owns a pirate copy of serenity. a PIRATE copy. unpaid for. stolen. depleting joss's stores of much needed and deserved support as the networks don't seem to care about public outcry, only facts and figures. and do you know what he did when i made the incredulous "what the hell?" face? he offered me a copy. he said i was jealous. never mind the fact that we were trying to watch my official DVD. the paid for, legal, supporting joss one. never mind the fact that we brought our series to the big screen. never mind the fact that there are countless articles about how that was achieved. i mean, to just dismiss us like that? some of us (and i'm not including myself in this for the reason that i became a browncoat after filming started) spent an incredible amount of energy, time and money bringing serenity back. so you know what? if you ever meet someone like him, i'm begging you, for joss's sake, don't make my mistake, tell them exactly what a troll they are. remind them of our triumphs through tribulation. and maybe, just maybe, we'll shame them into crawling back under their rocks with the rest of the insects. wow, i almost had myself convinced there. i know you're thinking "wow, what a drama queen etc. etc." but i don't got this crown for nothin'!!! so just ignore me if you want, i just needed a place to vent (hey, don't judge me, i have career-defining exams in 3 weeks time!!!) b ps. a few positive points, though: 1. the anti-sci-fi brigade were BOTH telling the troll to shut up because they wanted to watch the movie 2. one of the a.s.f. brigade actually referred to serenity as the BDM (they're using the lingo! soon they'll be wearing hawaiian shirts an
