Whew! Got my taxes done and done. So relieved. And I've missed this place terribly. It'll be nice to meet and greet and see old friends too. It seriously is difficult to stay away from here (home!) any amount of time at all. RL is boring, all else is Firefly consumed. So sorry all new recruits I've been missing and I'll get back in my storeroom tonight and attempt to catch up. Ahhh... * puts feet up and has a cup of coffee* It's good to be home! ETA: I have new staff in my storeroom folks.. I now have Rese being my secretary and office assistant. Boy, am I grateful.. she's a wonder! If you can't find me for your browncoat, find her and she'll find me.

I have been around for some time and I did not get my greeting from FollowMal. What does a girl have to do to get a virtual Browncoat? I just want to belong, man.

Work. We all have to do it. Gas prices are going up, along with smokes and booze.:finger: Being O.W.U.P is not the best thing in the world. To have a job that you like makes it ok though. I love my job and I love..... Well most of the kids I work with. Most people think that I'm Crazy Jayne. I just think it's worth it. Shiney, I'm a big damn hero. Chiefy

Well it's Easter school holidays here in Australia and I've actually got some time off. Starting tomorrow I'll be at a Sci-fi convention in Brisbane for four days, not much Firefly/Serenity content, but I'll take what I can get. All this means I'll be a bit slow putting up part 16 of Thinking things through. I am working on it though and hopefully will be finished next week. Thanks to all those who comment on my stories...I love the feedback. Happy Easter to all!

What with taxes, class projects, tests, mandatory lectures and spring parade season it is definitely that time of year. Been back to school from spring break for less than a month now and I already feel like I need a vacation. Can't wait to get done with finals, but first I have to write a paper for tomorrow. Good times.

The school keyboards say "delete", not "del" on the delete key. This means my evil plans against Cordelia-I-mean-Kassi have been foiled. Unless I can convince her that "esc" stands for something. Like "escapade". Yeaaaaaaaaaah.

Ok, so those that have been following my blogs have known that I am having problems just getting my education; getting things that I actually, according to the rules, have access to. Yesterday was no exception. Last I let everyone in on my "adventure", I wasted an academic year. Unfortunately, this realization had come shortly before the voluntary withdrawal deadline (for only 2 of my courses). Then, because I wanted to stay within the system, I was working with the student union to resolve these issues. The time went beyond the voluntary withdrawal deadline. But the student union told me not to worry about that. This resulted in getting a meeting with the dean. Unfortunately, the student union rep I was working with flaked out. I waited a fair while before contacting the dean directly. I got a meeting with him yesterday (rather than 1 1/2/2 months ago). He was less than helpful. Apparently, even though the course descriptions have little to do with what is actually taught in the class itself, is not the responsibility of the university. And this isn't false advertising either. How advertising in a university publication something, yet not actually providing that something is not false advertising, is logic that I'm not aware of (actually I am, it's called delusion). Apparently, the dean can use portions of the universities calender as rigid (his "inability" to give my a letter stating that I can withdraw without academic penalty). But, when I use the calender to make my point, it isn't rigid. And in fact, the process outlined in the calender that I was using was (as he put it) "a dead end" ie the process effectively doesn't exist. Again, the university bears no responsibility for this either. Apparently, getting... bad advice from the student union (apparently I should have worried about the voluntary withdrawal thing) is not his, nor the universities responsibility, nor the student unions fault. Nor will they do anything to help me in that regard. Apparently, when a professor intimidates students (myself and others, as only a small example of what this professor has done), it is ok because the professor and I had a "personality conflict." How my relationship effects the relationship between the other students and this professor, I have no idea. For that matter, how it is ok, no matter what, for a professor to intimidate students is beyond me. (EDIT: According to the dean, instead of trying to resolve the issue as if the professor and I were adults, I should have just dropped the course.) And I could go on. Basically, this university has failed me in every single way possible and it will take zero responsibility for its actions (or lack thereof). And now I'm left with not only being the victim, but bearing the full brunt of the punishment. So, now my only recourse (at this university) is to go through an appeals process. If that fails, then that's the end of the road. The only other option that I have is to appeal to my home University to attempt to get something done there. If this all fails, then my academic career is quite over. I am now trying to do both these things in parallel as I have zero confidence in this university. Hopefully, I'll have better luck when talking to my home University.

I recently posted a Mal wallpaper with the lyrics to this song on it. The long version by The Who. Since I put it in there, I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I've always loved this song and it just seemed to fit Mal. The more I think about it the more it seems to fit. There doesn't seem to be a single line that isn't right. I've been listening to it almost constantly to feed my Malcaholism. I really really want to make a Mal music video to it. The problem is that I don't have any video editing software. It is quite irritating. I might take a page from LadyKnight's book and do a collage version. There is so much more there then a singe wp. Anyway...yeah...I guess I'm done. Gotta go listen to some music. (sing to self) No one knows what it's like, to be the bad man, to be the sad man...

Okay, so its been a really, really, really long time since I have been on this website, let alone wrote a blog. What brought me back, you ask? Well I'll tell you. I watch "Slither" the other weekend. I'm not ashamed to admit that the sole reason I went to see it was because of Fillion. Honestly, that man...My last birthday I held my breath and prayed fervently that he would become the father of at least one of my future children. Then I blew the candles out. I know that many of you just rolled your eyes, but I haven't gone stalkerish or anything. Its not like you'll find me riding around in his car claiming to be his wife (remember when that happened to David Letterman?). Anyway, on with the story. So I went to see "Slither" and I loved it, because I am the type of girl that likes movies to be grotesque and over-the-top. Particularly if its Troma-esque. After watching the movie, I got a jones to see more Fillion so I started watching Firefly all over again. I was watching the pilot and I got all sad about Wash and his dinosaurs when I started to think about Serenity (the movie not the ship). This brings me to my point, and not a moment too soon. Has anyone out there heard anything about an upcoming Serentiy sequel? I know its early, but I kind of miss having something to look forward to. And we browncoats are known for our unfailing patience. BTW-if this topic has already been covered-sorry-I told you I've been out of it for a while. --Chosen1

Okay so I'm writting Hidden Truths, and I want to continue writing fanfic, it's truely addictive. But my brain is fighting, I so badly want to have a happy ending but I just keep hearing this wicked little voice saying "is that how joss would do it?" I mean... it never ends happy for couples in joss's world. Okay that was my tangent, my hubby doesn't care so I had to say it here.

Well, today was BSD at my university and that can only mean one thing: classes are done for the winter semester. And for the curious, BSD stands for Bermuda Shorts Day; tradition is you dress in beach wear, preferably Bermuda shorts, and get rip-roaringly drunk at the beer gardens (Now 20% bigger this year!). I suppose the two phrases "Bermuda Shorts" and "winter semester" really don't go together, but that's what happens in Canadian universities. I'm just glad classes are over; now I can get some sleep. This was the first semester that I worked and went to school so I'm a little sleepy, to say the least. Only problem is, I have three final exams this time around. I miss that one semester of mine when I didn't have any. That semester rocked. So while classes are done, the cramming begins. I'm writing this when I should be finishing off my philosophy paper, but I got to allow myself some procrastination; it's the right of any student. But after I'm done BSing my way through my final exam/essays, my summer is free for me to do nothing. Well, not really nothing. I'll still go to work, but there won't be the pressure of having to get school work done. Maybe once my exams are done, I'll have a Firefly marathon. Yeah, I like the sound of that...
