Of course, it's probably decaffeinated and fat-free and all the other stuff that makes it booooring... I've been in Cornwall for a week. Lovely weather, rather too many Cornish cream teas and some lovely walking on the cliffs at Tintagel. A word of advice, though; don't eat a huge meal of shellfish and then read H P Lovecraft before going to bed. The indigestion-fuelled dreams were...interesting. Came back and found that the Cat has been fighting and has a very manky ear. If he wasn't 'done', I would seriously consider renaming him after Our Favourite Mercenary - all he does is feast and fight. (The third 'f' being denied him...) He's getting old, now, but hasn't quite realized that he no longer has the speed and power that he once had. So, I'm back at my desk, nicely refreshed and with a headful of extremely odd scenes that I have to organise. But. I have been accused, in the nicest possible way, of Mary-Suedom, and have consequently lost my nerve a bit. I didn't think it was that bad. I could go back and delete everything after chapter 9 of the first fic, of course. But I am extremely proud of 'Zen and the Art...' Granted, parts of 'Cold Comfort Mountain' were a little flabby, but that was down to writing through a block, and I did warn folks that that was a Cobbcentric piece. Er...as was 'Viva New Vegas'. Guess I'm on a loser here. Hell with it. It's canon, post-BDM, closely referenced from official sources. I've introduced one OC for a very specific reason (and not the obvious self-indulgent one.) If folks can't see past the OC, and just want a round of bunk-hopping with the crew, just keep walking. After all, this is the Jossverse. We could have started an episode with a 'long-lost sibling' who was really a space-entity.

My hubby is in the Navy, he's a corpman, which is basically a med tech. Currently he isn't working the floor at the hospital, but is a supervisor, but occasionally things happen to scare me. Every month or so he has med-evac duty which means he hops in an ambulance bus, heads from Bethesda down to Andrews AFB and picks up kids from the planes coming from Germany. Most of the time these are kids (I say kids, because, most of them are young marines, soldiers, airmen) coming from Iraq, Afghanistan, etc and they are usually on life support. Now, Marines don't have med techs, a Navy corpman is assigned a unit of marines to serve as 'doc' to the marines. As a matter of fact my husband is on a list as an alternate to go to Kuwait in January. ANyhoo, so he goes on this med-evac run last week, they pick up the guys and start heading back to Bethesda. So, the husband is watching over a guy whose pelvis is shattered and he's got tubes everywhere. they are barreling thru downtown DC and this guy is trying to talk to my husband. My hubby tries to explain to the guy that he can't hear and understand him because of the sirens and the tubes. The guy keeps trying to get his point across and realization dawns on my husband. They trained together a little more than a year ago. This guy was sent out to OIF and my husband got the cushy hospital job! Back at the hospital my husband got the whole story from the guy's wife. Apparently, they were traveling and their convey was caught in a firefight and their truck was overturned. the guy directed his marines to pull out anyone left in the truck and then instructed these guys in triaging their friends, since he was unable with his shattered pelvis. So, i get a little cranky when my husband comes home from work late, (cut me some slack, i'm the one stuck with a two-year old) well after he explained what had happend, i forgave him and wanted to cry because it's just scary! now, onto a happier note...has anybody played katamari damacy? i just downloaded the demo for 360 and it's the best three minutes of my life! Really, i am in love with it!

OK now it's stuck. Been humming/singing it all day and it won't stop... It's not even a song I normally sing. Oh well...maybe it'll stop soon ( by the way it's "I only have eyes for you")

Well, I think I will be away for awhile. Himself has decided that he can just stop paying his court ordered monies. Because of this the house payment is not going to be made, which automatically puts me into foreclosure. I am looking for a second, second job (or is that third job) and trying to figure out what I have that will sell. Prostitution would be a thought except ewwwww. There was talk of a website with a paypal address, but I can think of people more deserving than me. Anyway, thats they way it is in Foley.
