Sorry about the all caps...just a bit excited. I got my Browncoat finished...posted a picture in the Blue Sun room. Also uploaded a pic of the wife in her Kaylee outfit...she's in the Blue Sun room, too. I have a few more pictures of the browncoat and Kaylee's outfit. If you would like to see them, PM me or let me know. I would love comments, critiques, or questions about these.

I just watched the 1939 John Ford movie STAGECOACH last night. I hadn't seen it before, but have heard it mentioned so many times, not only as a seminal Western, but as the blueprint for some many movies which followed in all genres, including Sci-Fi. What struck me, watching it as a huge FIREFLY fan, were the similarities between it and FIREFLY/SERENITY. I'm sure Joss is very familiar with STAGECOACH and that he knew exactly what he was borrowing, and I'm not trying to say, "Oh, he totally copied this movie." I'm just saying that it was fun to watch because it was like watching another version of FIREFLY. There was the goofy "pilot" (stagecoach driver), the elegant lady like Inara - who was not a companion. There was a whore in the movie, but she had a lot of Kaylee elements, very sweet and kind. There was a doc, and someone with a secret running from the law. The Apache attack at the end was so much like the Reaver chase in SERENITY, I kept waiting for John Wayne to get speared in the leg... I definitely recommend this movie for Browncoats!

Today was Sunday, and also the day of the final match in the World Cup (ITA vs FRA). S&B wanted to take me on a drive out of the city to tour a set of Roman ruins built in 80 AD. These ruins were of a settlement that indicated the farthest reach of the empire at the height of it's influence. Sounded pretty interesting to me, so we packed up and headed out of the city in a friend's car, taking the scenic route out of necessity since several of the bridges were closed because of the Museum fest and the forthcoming match festivities.

OK, bad joke with the title. It's hard to be creative quickly. This is the problem with establishing a fanfic posting schedule - it's inevitable that I can't keep up! So, just in case you're looking and not finding... I have two boring work papers to submit before the end of the day, and some after work activities to prep for, so I'm busy busy busy! Chapter 18 will be up tomorrow. Then probably just one more chapter this week. Sorry! Blast real life for interfering with my fic!!
