Questions......plus a good rant!!!

Clearly There are no future plans for another season of FireFly which im sure puts a frown on all our faces.My main question is: Im aware that Fox holds the rights to FireFly, now is that just the name or all it includes, plot, characters, etc?
Seems after reading further on the net that the Film Serenity was made as a "season 2" rolled into one film. The Director said himself that they were planing to put all of what is in the film excluding some more in-depth story lines into a new season.
It still is a "head scratchier" to think that the series and film didn't do as well as needed by producers etc.
It seems that at this point we are waiting around and hoping for something that "god forbid" never happens or something that will take many more years before something does.
Another question, why is it that Fox will not release the rights of FireFly (maybe a n00b question) as the plain black and white picture to me is if they don't intend to extend to another season then why not release it to another network?
I will be honest i am a recent FF Fan, i watched the film before the series and was shocked that there was only one season made.
I watched the ComicCon clip on youtube the other day and it just goes to show that even after 10 years since it was canceled that they came in there groves to see all the cast again.
Im aware iv ranted alot but as a blog its my opinion, agree or not and if anyone can share details on my questions that would be great.
