The Unusual Suspects.

On Friday night, I went to the X-Files Improv featuring Dean Haglund. (AKA Lone Gunman Langely.) This was part of the Fringe festival that was held in Edinburgh's old town.
It was an extremely memorable gig. At the start, I got singled out from the 30 + people in attendance, which took me by surprise.. This is something that noone wants to happen. (Basically, I failed to shout out my favourite beer.)
He was explaining the 'audience interaction' part of the show. When Dean Haglund asked me the question again, I calmly replied 'Don't drink.' The room laughed at that point.
This time, Dean Haglund wanted to know favourite cereal.. EXCEPT, I was the only person allowed to answer.. So, in front of the room, I flatly replied 'Cheerios' and then laughed. The room laughed, and even Dean Haglund too. Also, the guy sitting in front blurted out 'Frosties' at the same time.
Dean Haglund asked me if I was embarrassed that he'd singled me out. Calmly, I said 'Not so much' to more laughter. Dean Haglund said that was understandable, as the pressure had now been moved to the guy in front.
It's not to say that my tone was deliberate. It's nerve wracking when a whole room is focused on you. I guess that I was still trying to process the fact that, essentially, I was in a cellar with Langley from the X-Files. Plus, I had to keep a level head.
The show was a lot of fun. My stomach ached from laughing so much. There are a lot of things to explain, but I'll keep it brief.
The action revolved around a sponge god monster that shot pancakes. Dean Haglund played a scientist, and needed an audience member to play his arms. There was a sound effect segment, which required another unsuspecting audience member. He actually worked at the American Embassy. His sound effects were pretty much onomatopaea. 'Whoosh' and 'crack' are a few of the gems.
However, he managed to mimick a loaded shotgun pretty well. When it came to shooting the weapon, Dean Haglund announced that he would kill the Sponge God Monster with a super soaker. There were lots of funny moments, not just related to the improv. For example, I accidently walked into the previous show, which I didn't have a ticket for. O.O I ended up watching the musical version of 'The War Of The Worlds.' During the REAL show, I was also sandwiched between three portly Swedes and a blonde woman with svelte legs. It's not as dirty as it sounds. xD That was my seating arrangement. The whole scenario was funny in my head..
After the show, I got my season 3 DvD boxset signed, along with the official program. (Which cost £2.)
