Coworkers- Oh what fun

As you all my know ,I work as a firefighter for the state of Arkansas. My department has three shifts, the first shift is made of newer people who are trying to get their feet on the ground.
Most of the first shift is made up of good people.
The second shift, which I am on, is mainly veterans(most of us have over six years with the department), we work together very well and know what to do.
Now the third shift, has many new people on it. Some of those new people believe that they know better than the vets how things are done.These people are know it alls( and that is being nice) and this has caused a very bad rift between the shifts.The vets have tried to help them but their reaction is as if we have kicked their puppy.(Nice again)
I only hope that the third shift wises up and realizes that the vets are here to help them, not put them down.
