Snow Day Revisited
Wednesday, February 7, 2007 10:36 PM
Day 3 at home. In the snow. We have not yet been forced to eat the sled dogs, which is good because we don't have any.
The lawn tractor with plow attachment will not start, ergo: we shovel.
The roof needs clearing. I made a start, but am quite tired and sore just at present. Happily baking and cooking away, wood stove chugging along nicely. The boy went out to play while Hubbs took a little time off from telecommuting (on dial up, props to him for sheer determination!) to take a turn digging us out. The first tunnel (through the snow bank where the town plow has been leaving its tailings) collapsed, the second one is named Pussywillow. This is a happy child.
Missing work? Not so much. Missing pay? More so.
The National Weather Service is using terms like "historic" in the forecast. Thank you NOAA, I really needed to know that.
So historic vs. record, discuss.
Record = measured and documented.
Historic = two old coots independently corroborate that their grandfathers said it got up to HERE when they were boys.
Whaddaya think?
