Time for an ET sequel update

When I finished posting Easy Tickets, I estimated that the next series in the, um, series would be ready sometime in November. And here we are, the last day of the month, and guess what...Not so much.
It's not due to lack of effort! I have been writing lots. In fact, I'm well past 100K words right now. (FJ was 70K and ET was 150K) but it just keeps expanding! The preliminary bit - which sets up the meat of the story - is just getting done now. After months of work!
This part only is 10 chapters and 70K words (yikes!) including an intro chapter and then one chapter from each character's POV. This explains why it's taken so long - it's not easy to arrange it so that the main storyline advances and I always pay sufficient attention to The Man (Mal, of course!) while still getting into the heads of 8 other very different characters. I have to be in the mood for each one, and that can’t be forced.
After chapter 10, the fun really gets to rolling. Much of it is written, but it needs filling out and arranging. There's a lot to do! I'm not sure how long the whole story will be; certainly 20 chapters, maybe as many as 30, possibly more. I really can't estimate when I'll finish, but it will be awhile. Past the new year and beyond! :(
I don't have much more to say about it than I did in my last blog. Maybe I'll say it again though, and add that I think you folks who liked my previous fics will really like it. There's angst, there's sex, there's drama, there's Simon in lust, Jayne being Jayne, Book being pious (and, occasionally, armed), River being a teenager, Kaylee dealing with anger, Wash stepping up, and all kinds of background on Zoe and Mal and Inara. Also - throw in a whore or two, some new Companions, a few troublesome Alliance types (some you already know, some you may not expect to see again) and, finally, spice it up proper with a few shipfuls of hungry Reavers.
Wow - I guess that's more than I said before, huh?
Anyway, I hope you readers will still be around! I've noticed that fics are getting a lot fewer hits now that the fervor over the BDM has passed. That's a shame! It's scary to work so hard for a dwindling audience. Not that that will stop me, but still...
I'll be at the Flan or BBB or BE Screwed or whatever it ends up being. I hope to meet a lot of you there!
