Hey All

I'm surprised at the reaction that I got from my previous blog. Like I said, the only reason I posted it as a blog was because I couldn't find an earlier thread that had everyone talking about their individual pet peeves in regards to fanfics. I guess context really is key in stuff like that.

I didn't mean to come off as really angry about this. I'm not a negative poster at all. If I read a fanfic that I don't like, I don't post anything. THat stupid thing about "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" that my Mom drilled into my head as a kid stuck with me. So for the most part, I just bypass any stories I think are weak and focus on the stronger stories.

All I was really saying is that particular storyline to me just seems uninspired. Now if a fanfic writer takes that and actually makes it interesting, then I'd reconsider. But for the time being, it's not exactly one of my fave storylines.

And Blue, thank you for noticing "You Can't Go Home Again". I think I know what three cliche's you're talking about, but I'm glad that you picked up on the fact that I go different ways with each one of them to make the story more interesting. YCGHA I guess is my response to another popular fanfic storyline (Tam's coming home) that I've seen done the same way over and over again. And rather than bitch about it, I wrote an entire story as a reaction to that.

Maybe I should put my money where my mouth is.
