This contains spoilers!!! If you have not seen the Big Damn Movie, then what the heck are you doing surfing the web? Go and watch it doggone it! And futhermore, don't read this!!!This is how I usually title my blog, stuff that has actually nothing to do with the post therein, so be prepared for disappointment! Well, I was like thinking, you know, about stuff. Firefly stuff. And anyway, I was thinking of when Wash died. Now, Serenity was the first exposure I had with the 'Verse. And Book's death was the first experience I had with Joss getting down and dirty and killing somebody that I cared about. So, imagine my surprise when not ten minutes later, he goes and does it again. These are people that I haven't even known for two hours. However they had wormed thier way into my heart. Suffice it to say, for the next few days I was hella depressed. I mean, seriously and utterly down. That got me thinking: Okay, firstly Joss is an amazing storyteller. And on top of that, the actors (Alan et. al.) are awesome. But futhurmore, the fact that I was severly negatively impacted by Book and Wash's death shows how open we are to outside emotional influences on our psyches. I never met Wash, or anybody on board of Serenity, however, I was totally torn up about it. So, here I am, completely distant from the goings on on Serenity, yet just as touched by the tragedy. So, yeah, I think that it speaks about Joss ability to draw us into the story, and make us feel as much a part of the crew as Zoe or Jayne. And let us feel the sorrow as deep as if we were there.
