Email notifications down?

My email notifications seem to be down. I checked my stories and was surprised to see a number of comments that I was not aware of; I'd hate to think that people were messaging me (I was in the middle of a couple of conversations) and I couldn't respond. Anyone else having this problem, and how do I fix it?
