Why do us fans feel the need to anounce to the world that we get a convert?

I got a convert!

We've all seen it a hundred times before in the little blog thing. I got a convert! And them maybe a little If you take the time to click on it you might see a little message saying something like "I got a convert! We were sitting around and blah blah blah..."

My question is why do we feel the need to do this? It is it a show of our wealth? Maybe in our little courner of the verse, we don't measure our wealth in dollars, or pounds, or euro, or whatever.

We measure wealth in number of converts. Number of times we've watched "Ariel." How many times a day we say, "Not so much." If we have a Jayne hat or not.

Or maybe we anounce our new convert because its a kind of initiation. You're not a true member of FFF.net unless you get a convert of you're very own. You're in the club if you can get a convert.

Maybe we do it because we've seen others do it, and its the thing to do. You only get in the club if you act like everybody else. I see it every day at school. Everybody looks and acts the same. Same hair. Same skirts. Same everything. I know this isn't the case in our world. We're better then that.

Or maybe we just like seeing our name up on the homepage. Thats why I do it.

I am an egotistical theater dork after all.

I live to see my name in lights.

Oh yeah, i got a convert!
