When I first heard of Serenity (I only saw FireFly afterwards), I saw this poster that went along with it:
Seems like they did everything to make Summer Glau as "hot" as possible. Didn't bother me then. But now that I'm in Love with River, I'm beginning to find this picture of her more and more distasteful somehow. :( She looks weird; wrong make-up around the eyes; I dunno, she looks like a crazy witch. Don't get me wrong, I totally adore my little crazy person. :) y'all know that. But this look is more of a "lets-gets-a-cheap-has-nothing-to-do-with-the-movie-even" thrill out of River.
I dunno; I just looked it at again, today; and I find it really upsetting. :(
Of course, marketing people seem to miss that River Tam, without any make-up, really is the most genuinely beautiful person. There was no need to dress her up like a gorram doll!
