Valentines Day. You make the day, not Hallmark.

Ok, look alive you male Browncoats! Tis V-day! Time to remind the women-folk of our lives that we care. There are daughters, sisters, mothers, grandmothers, nieces, favorites aunts and close female friends, not to mention wives and girlfriends, that deserve it!

Just a little something to show you care. No needy for tacky or cheesey. A single flower, a hug, a phone call is all it takes.

If you want to cheap out and succumb to marketing... your loss.

As a male that spends the majority of my summer on the softball diamond, I know I don't always take the time to show my girls how I feel.

So on Valentines day I cook a special dinner, make a dessert, deliver my flowers (my florist knows me by name, not a bad thing really, keeps me outta the doghouse.).

My little girls LOVE it! I know I'm spoiling it for their future boyfriends, but as a dad, I feel it's my duty.

Duty is the wrong word, I love every minute of it. Ya it may be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. When My wife and I were at different Universities, I drew her Valentines cards.

It's the... (hang onto your hats)... thought (ya I said thought) that counts.

So, put some thought into it fellas. With a very few exceptions, they are worth it.

That's just my two cents worth.
