A quick summary of how I was feeling last night:
For anyone who missed all the drama, I posted a new fanfic entitled "Wet" in the Blue Sun Room. Anyone who's read any of my fics can probably guess the pairing and rating, right?
Here's the first reponse I recieved, from an anonymous poster:

Mmmmkay. I think I've figured out why this ticked me off.
First: Past NC-17? Is there such a thing? As far as I'm concerned, unless otherwise noted, NC-17 denotes that the story contains graphic sexual activity between consenting adults. Which is what my story contained.
Second: My fic is hardly the only NC-17 story on this site. Although this troll said it was the first one it had read. Well now, if it's the first it read on the site, it must be the only one, right?
Third, the troll went on to say that Simon and Kaylee's love is much purer than what I portray in my fic. All right, anyone who's read my previous fics (there's 12 of them) knows that I have spent this entire series showing the progression of Simon and Kaylee's relationship. Also, just because their love is "pure," they have to be celibate? Uh,
that. Personally, I believe that when two people truly love each other, sex can be one of the purest ways of expressing that love.Furthermore, and I think this is the thing that really annoyed me: Think about the children? No, I will not. Know why? Because they are not my children. Frankly, if parents allow a young child to be online without discussing what kind of sites the child is allowed to visit, or monitoring their child's online activities in some way, anything that the kid is exposed to, anything that happens, is completely and totally the fault of the parents.
I'm already disgusted by people who use the TV or internet as a babysitter. I really don't need someone telling me that I somehow have an obligation to make it that much easier for them to do so. Bull
. Sorta like when people complain about what their kids see on TV. So sorry Hollywood hasn't done a better job of raising your kids.And after that, the troll has the nerve to start critcizing my writing style. Yeah, not even going there, except to say that anyone who wants to critque any writer damn well better learn how to spell first.
I'll quit bitching and get back to writing, but first, to summarize: If you don't like NC-17 material, don't read my fics. If you don't like my writing style, don't read my fics. If you read one of my fics and don't much like it, I don't much care. And of course, if you are under the minimum age for viewing adult material wherever you live...
Oh, let's be honest here. If you're underage and you want to read NC-17 fics, even though you shouldn't, nothing I say is going to stop you, right? Gorram kids these days, no respect for the rules...why in my day we had to walk 15 miles to read smut! Through five feet of snow! Uphill! Both ways! *stomps off, muttering about rap music and baggy clothes*
