Quick Poem Under Stress

Wednesday, January 25, 2006 10:11 AM

I am swimming in stress,
stress colors my every mood.
I am not giving in but IT swallows me
halfway - the top half - but my feet
keep their light steps and quick strides.
The world is indifferent to the beat of
a camouflaged solitaire.

Every word I spit out out of stress -
how each letter just hurts! I blame YOU -
the horrible sinker, you mass of dark, heavy cloud,
you which makes me scowl and lip-tight, and
makes me hate the world and everyone in it,
including myself.

Oh, the world and its indifference, the world of
the self, selfish, self-centered, self-possessive,
our world, our stress. Our Selves.
