Stupid Friday the 13th

I got a $30 dollar parking tikcet while I was parked outside a friend's dorm tonight. The gorram lot was empty except for my car, on a Friday night no less, and I get a parking ticket because I didn't have the right kind of parking permit. Is that the biggest load of b.s. you've ever heard? It's like they just didn't have anything better to do. I mean seriously, it's a Friday night in a college town, and my car was the only one they could pick on!? And then when my friends and I got to the bowling alley, I preceded to bowl 14 gutterballs in two games, lol. Pathetic, right?

But anyway I'd like to ask you guys'opinion: Should I pay the $30 or contest the ticket? The appeal process is kind of a bitch (I suspect to discourage people from fighting the citations), but I honestly think the person who issued the ticket was just being mean...so what are you're thoughts?
