English teachers love Serenity...sorta...

A while back in my Brit Lit class(yes, I'm still in high school. Hard to tell by my last blog...), we were talking about 'Rime of the Old Mariner' and I was immediately reminded of Mal's line about the albatross in Serenity . Sadly, I hadn't seen the movie in about a month or two so I couldn't remember the exact line, but I gave her the general summary anyway. Well, today being my first day back to school(ugh) and Serenity fresh on my mind, I told her that bit of the conversation between the Operative and Mal.Operative:River Tam is not to be trusted. She is an albatross.
Mal:Well, it's to my understanding that the albatross was a bird of good fortune until some idiot killed it. (turns to Inara)Yes, I've read a poem. Try not to faint.
She got a good laugh out of that.
