Ten days and a wake up...Iraq update

Our replacements are are the ground and today is the initial briefing for them. Or...as we like to call it, Death By Powerpoint.

Last night I ran into a Sergeant I know who works over at the ASP. She calls me her MNSTC-I Ranger (MNSTC-I is the Advisor group...except for us assigned to the real job of Advisors (training and fighting with the Iraqis) it is mostly reserve and national guard soldiers doing administration work- so me...being Tabbed a couple of times...with Master-blaster,pathfinder, CIBs...etc...and a scroll on my right arm...I kind of stand out in that crowd).
Anyway, she came up to me and threw her arms around me and hugged me tight. "I wish you were not going."

Well, shit. Yes, I am nice to her and all that AND I've been away from home for a year, but having a girl do that is pretty cool for an old guy like me. Of course nothing is gonna happen because 1: I love my wife and that is that. 2: pretty much covered it in one.
