Will anyone ever be happy?

Edit: there may be slight spoilers. Consider yourself warned. To start, I'm just going to say that I'm not trying to start any fights (which is why I'm putting this in a flylog and not starting a thread) but I'm going to speak my mind here before I end up replying to a post somewhere and regretting it later.
This is a rant. You have been warned.
Standard ranting rules apply

First we get a trailer. And people are upset. I can't even remember why now. I think it had something to do with 'not appealing to the general non-browncoated public' (although a trailer in April for a little-known movie in September is probably for the fans anyway.)
Then we get a poster. And people are upset. Doesn't represent the movie (which most of us haven't seen) yadda yadda yadda. I liked it. It's hanging in my room.
Then there is another poster (the Australian one). And people are upset. Too apocalyptic. Too martial-arty.
Then there are the tv ads. Not enough explaining. Too much explaining. Too funny. Not funny enough.
Then we get the movie. And people are upset. Too many deaths. The wrong deaths. Not enough Inara. Not enough Kaylee. Not enough River. Not enough Mal. Not enough Wash. Not enough Book. Not enough Jayne. Not enough Simon. Not enough Zoe. Not enough Serenity (the ship). It's not Firefly. It's too Firefly.
And now the DVD. There are petitions against the DVD art. And for the inclusion of several episodes of Firefly (I actually thought that one was a joke at first). And there are demands that the deleted scenes be put in (although this came from a poster who is showing definite troll-like tendencies).
I think I've made my point. And I don't necessarily disagree. I think there were flaws in the promotion (the tv ads in particular). And I'm not saying people shouldn't feel free to like and dislike things. Go ahead, I have no right to tell you how to feel.
What I find tiresome though is that it seems that from the very beginning, some people have never been happy. Everything is wrong and the fans are the only ones who know what is right and that if the fans demand something be done, it should be done.
It just feels like this weird 'entitlement' thing has sprung up. I can't describe it, but I see it everytime I see a new thread demanding Universal/Joss change something (and it's not just here. I made the mistake of going to the 'versal board and was left with this feeling
).Does everyone need their own complaint thread? And their own petition?
And to hate everything .
I'm not in love with the DVD art. But I don't really care. I want the DVD. And if this is the art it's going to have for a December release then bring it on.
I know a lot of what I've said may anger some. But I had to say it. I'm not trying to offend, I just don't get it.
We should enjoy what we have, not dwell on what we dislike.
End rant.
