First Blog - First Converts

Okay, so I've been reading and posting to the site for a bit now, but I never really thought I had a reason to do a blog until now.

A friend of mine celebrated his 47th birthday last night. We took him out to dinner, publicly embarrassed him by singing Happy Birthday (as all good friends should! ), then headed back to his house to watch videos at his request. For our vid contribution, my husband and I of course brought Disk 1 of the Firefly DVD set. (See, we knew that of those among us that evening, only one other person had seen the series - and he's a fan too.)

We popped Serenity into the DVD player, and after a little "settling in," the room became deathly quiet. Everyone laughed in the places we all laugh... ("Ten percent o' nuthin' is.. Lemme do the math here...") ...And went silent with contemplation... ("I am very smart...")

When the episode was over, those who hadn't seen it had the typical response: "Why'd they cancel this show again... Stupid FOX!" And started asking about the price of the DVDs and where they could buy them...


...And so the local conversion begins...
