Okay, attending the Serenity premiere, seeing the cast, meeting Joss; these are all weird abstracts that don't actually affect my life in one way or another (although I swear making eye-contact with Gina cleansed my soul). However, I have just had a few reality bits I'd like to blog too.

I've been working on my own as an IT Contractor, providing technical support to small firms, and I've really enjoyed it. But it's a little restricting just working for yourself and I want bigger and more challenging tasks so I've been looking for other positions.

So: Friday, spot ad in local paper.
Monday, phone up number and ask for details. They give me huuuuuge form to fill in and send back. I do so and they immediately say they'll ask for an interview very soon.
Tuesday, nothing.
Wednesday, nothing until 7.30pm when the agency rings and asks if I can go in 3.00 to see them. Well, sure.
Thursday, nothing.
Friday, 3pm. I do the interview, didn't think I gave that great an impression to the boss (who is about my age and seems cool) but you never know. And indeed you don't because at 6.30pm, they phone up and offer me the job, to start in two weeks time.

So suddenly I'm about to be thrust into a new environment, with not that much knowledge of what my role will entail. It should be testing and interesting and offer plenty more recruits to the way of the Firefly so I'm looking forward to it.

However, it does mean that I can't continue my browsing of the forum inbetween clients. And that means I'm going to be restricted to lunchtimes and evenings. This makes me a little sad.

Still, future events and stuff. Life changing stuff. This has been a very strange week for me. I wonder what's else is in store?
