The Real River Tam (part two)

Well, a whole lotta blogs ago I talked about this first grader that my wife observed at the school she'll be teaching at this school year. Now, just to recap, Mrs. Outlaw just got her credential and is also teaching second grade. She came home raving to me about this student who is a dead-ringer for River! Right down to the making pencils talk to each other and wearing of combat boots.

Well, second grade starts on Tuesday and the missus got her class list the other day. Yup, this girl's on it! :D Now, I won't even give away her name or anything...just politeness and all, but even syllabically it matches up with ri-ver Tam!

So yesterday she gets home from work and tells me she has a surprise. I oddly ask if it's in her pants, she says yes, but it's not what I instantly thought! She was given "River's" ID card from last year to give back to her parents, so I got to see it. She totally looks like River! The hair...yup. The face...kinda. I know Mrs. Outlaw will take some pictures throughout the year. I will be very interested to see the other similarities. So long as she doesn't start reading minds in class, however, it's all good.
