Half the world away

So my brother came round last week. This is blogworthy because he lives in Australia and returned for a wedding in Cyprus, taking an extra week off to see his family. Being terribly British, we were all very stiff upper lip about it, even though some of us hadn't seen him for nearly three years. But it was nice to catch up with him. He's getting married this October in Australia and we're all going to be there for that.

He also persuaded us to go to a Japanese restaurant for a farewell meal where they cook the food in front of you. It was good but £75 ($150) a head good? I don't think so. I'm something of a cook myself and you can get an awful lot of good ingredients for that sort of money plus have enough left over for a vintage bottle of scotch and champagne.

Mind you, I can't claim massive fiscal responsibility myself. This weekend saw my latest acquisition; a PSP. It was just sitting there, so tempting and being sold for less than the UK RRP when it is released here in three months time. So I buckled and acquired and now I play Wipeout Pure in my bed.

It's the simple things in life.
