A Fallen Browncoat

Fellow Browncoats, we've lost one of our own. Jordan Selvage, a Toledo Browncoat, was killed yesterday in a car accident. He was 28.

I'd only met Jordan a few times, when he drove down to Cincinnati for our shindigs. That he was willing to make a four-hour drive to hang out with his fellow Browncoats speaks to his dedication.

Jordan was one of those rare folks that I connected with immediately. We shared many things in common. We knew all the same obscure movie and TV quotes. We both drank Guinness and loved The Simpsons and Strong Bad and, of course, Firefly. We had the same sense of humor.

I don't know that Jordan hung out here much. I think he did, but I don't know his username. But he was a Browncoat, and that's all that needs saying, in my book.

And now, suddenly, he's gone. The victim of a 20-year-old woman running a red light.

I miss him.
