Bored and a little confused - Spring Heeled Jack

Well, I’m at work and should by rights be doing something complicated to a Share Sale Agreement, but why while away my time being a lawyer when I could be reading Firefly posts instead –sigh!

I am so bored! Obsession is nine tenths of the law (no wait, that’s wrong) and I clearly have the obsessive gene in spades, but I think law is possibly the most boring career in the world . . . If I didn’t have to go to work I’d finish my novel, honest (or maybe I’d just do impossible levels of research on the internet . . .)

Just came across Spring Heeled Jack – a historical London figure I’d heard about before but not really looked into . . . Just before Jack the Ripper started terrorising the London slums, Spring Heeled Jack used to jump out at people, wearing a mask with horns and flaming red eyes, blow blue flame at them and then leap off – normally evading pursuit by jumping over an impossibly high wall or such – superb!!
This is the career I want – there must be an opening for terrorising the London populous – but in such an old fashioned way – almost gentlemanly, you might say . . .

Anyone know were I can get a costume?

Apparently – if you just attach heavy springs to your feet and try and jump you tend to break your ankles so not sure what SHJ did . . . Anybody know the mechanics involved?

Still bored . . Back to looking up Firefly posts, I guess, or possibly some drafting - erk . . ..

How long till the BDM?? (says Instant Gratification Girl (note to self: good superhero character)) . . .
